The Hook

The hook is built from 1/4" round rod. It has been sheared to length in a custom built cutter for clean, square ends. Once sheared the hook is bent in a custom built bender to ensure uniformity in all the hooks.

The Ring

The ring is a muti-use feature that makes these stakes unique from any other on the market today. They are built from a heavy gauge wire that is straighted, coiled and cut to make uniform split rings. Much of this is done with custom built tools and equipment.

The Welds

Both the hook and the ring are welded to the spike. To ensure consistent construction a custom jig is used to hold the spike, hook and ring in place while the pieces are arc welded with a high strength fill material and inert shield gas.

The Finish

The shank is a plain oiled finish that provides protection from rust during storage and shipment.

The head has been dip/spin painted with two coats of a top brand yellow enamel paint. Rather than acting as a preservative finish this yellow enamel provides excellent visibilty in the woody conditions that tent stakes are often used.

Materials:

All tent stakes are built from heavy 3/8" diameter carbon-steel spikes. Hooks are 1/4" carbon-steel round rod. Utility rings are made from a heavy gauge carbon steel wire.
